49ers QB addresses offseason trade rumor

Trey Lance, the former third-overall pick, would have made sense for the San Francisco 49ers to trade for, and still makes sense.

The quarterback's desire to leave San Francisco would also make sense, but on Tuesday,

He told the media that he is certain of his future plans. Despite the trade speculations that surfaced this offseason,

which may have presented Lance with the chance to play or possibly start somewhere, he wants to start at quarterback for the 49ers.

Kyle Madson of Yahoo Sports quotes Lance as saying, "I knew where I wanted to be," in response to the rumors.

"Like I said, even looking back to last year, all I wanted was the chance to compete. I really enjoy being here.

I enjoy working with (QB coach Brian) Griese, (assistant QB coach) Klay (Kubiak), and, as of recently, (passing game coordinator) Klint (Kubiak) on the coaching staff.

The quarterback room is awesome. The men in the changing room are great. For me, there is no question that this is the place I want to be.
