His release saves the Cardinals $8,911,114 in cap space but results in a dead cap of $21,077,776.

The Cardinals couldn't designate Hopkins' release as post-June 1 due to already using that designation on J.J. Watt and Rodney Hudson.

Hopkins' $19.45 million base salary was non-guaranteed, making it challenging for teams to acquire him.

Unlike Odell Beckham, Hopkins didn't seek a raise if traded to another team.

The Cardinals actively tried to trade Hopkins before his release but couldn't find a suitable trade partner.

Hopkins' cap numbers for 2023 and 2024 are $29,988,890 and $25,453,886, respectively.
