Check Disney+ and Hulu queues: Dozens of movies and TV shows will soon disappear.
As Disney CEO Bob Iger and CFO Christine McCarthy warned in a recent earnings call, the Mouse House is eliminating more than 50 titles on May 26: "
"The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers" (Disney+) and "Y: The Last Man" (Hulu) are among the 41 Disney+ and 13 Hulu shows being axed.
Streamers like HBO Max and Starz have recently trimmed costs by removing titles. Disney revealed intentions to integrate Hulu content into Disney+ for customers of both services and laid off hundreds of workers.
Disney+'s Lucasfilm sequel "Willow" and FX and Hulu's Danny Boyle's Sex Pistols thriller "Pistol" are among the purge list's pricey, high-profile shows.
"Rosaline" with Kaitlyn Dever and the "Cheaper By The Dozen" version with Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff are also included. By deleting titles, streaming firms can save money on residuals.
The Writers Guild of America's strike with Hollywood studios is over residuals.
Many of these series were short-lived since broadcasters remove titles that don't draw subscribers or viewers.
