Lionsgate's John Wick franchise has surpassed the $1 billion milestone at the global box office, thanks to the outstanding performance of John Wick: Chapter 4.
The total global take for the Keanu Reeves-led series is currently $1,011,319,297. With $425.3 million and growing, Chapter 4 is the highest-grossing of the quartet.
Following that comes 2019's John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum with $326.7 million, 2017's Chapter 2 with $171.54 million, and the original 2014 crime thriller with $87.8 million globally.
More action is on the way with John Wick: Chapter 4, which will be published in Japan later this fall. It is still widely available in different markets throughout the world.
The film, a Thunder Road Films/87eleven Entertainment production, premiered in late March and had a $137.5 million global debut, the franchise's best-ever.
Then, in mid-April, JW4 became the series' highest-grossing film. It surpassed the $400 million milestone globally in early May.
"This milestone is a testament to the incredible work of Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves, alongside Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, who have made it their mission to outdo themselves with each successive film in this franchise," said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake.
JW4 also stars Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane in addition to Reeves.
It's directed by Chad Stahelski, written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, and based on Derek Kolstad's characters. Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski are the producers.
