Ray Stevenson, the late actor, is being remembered in his final film role.

The Thor actor, who died on May 21 at the age of 58, was recently recalled in a poignant letter by director Péter Soós.  

The director announced his wish to honor Ray through the film 1242 Gateway to the West.

Ray's portrayal of Cardinal Cesereani in the historical drama was his final performance on screen before his death.

"I have realized the great weight of the duty that has been placed upon me with our work together on what is undoubtedly your last major film," Péter wrote to Deadline.

"I'll do everything in my power to keep this going." I can envision you on the scene, delving deeply into Cesareani's personality.

Péter reflected on Ray's captivating charisma and his ability to retain everyone's attention both on and off camera.

"I learned how passionately you act during our time together on both sides of the camera."

how passionately you live; how much you like acting and living," Péter went on. On set and in the hotel, there was laughter everywhere you went.
