Tom Brady's longtime NFL scout Jesse Kaye dies at 79.

Jesse Kaye, who spent decades as a scout but is best recognized for an appraisal of one player in the 2000 NFL draft,

has passed away at the age of 79. Kaye is most remembered for his opinion of the player in question.

During his time working with the Jets in the year 2000, Kaye reportedly exerted a great deal of pressure

on the team to select quarterback Tom Brady from the University of Michigan.

The Patriots were the ones to select Brady in the draft, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Kaye passed away on the weekend in a healthcare facility located in Green Bay.

Kaye spent five years working for the Green Bay Packers after playing college football at the University of Wisconsin.

Kaye worked as a scout for a number of different teams, including the Steelers, the Jets, the Packers, and the BLESTO scouting service.
