Warriors GM Bob Myers' heartfelt appreciation for rare Steve Kerr friendship

Myers' emotional gratitude for their exceptional connection first appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea.

In the spring of 2014, Bob Myers, who was leading the Warriors' front office at the time and was in his third season there,

prevailed in a bidding war to secure the services of the hottest coach available.

Nine years after Steve Kerr agreed to take the helm of the Warriors' bench,

Myers used his news conference to announce his intention to leave the team on

Tuesday afternoon to list his friendship with Kerr as one of his professional and personal high points.

Myers told Kerr, "Oh, boy, you know what a guy." What a once-in-a-lifetime friendship,

what a once-in-a-lifetime person, and what a great coach. He is the greatest coach in Hall of Fame history.
