Before Tuesday's game in Seattle, the Yankees placed center fielder Harrison Bader on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring injury.
Catcher Ben Rortvedt was additionally assigned by New York to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Jose Trevino, a fellow backstop, has returned from the injured list, while Franchy Cordero has been called up to replace Bader in the outfield.
The placement of Bader in the IL is not unexpected. After Bader departed Monday's game, manager Aaron Boone indicated it was a possibility on Tuesday.
